Visiting Study at University of Deusto, 11-14 April 2016 (Bilbao, Spain).

Delegación Ucrania_999_14 A delegation of twenty people, amongst them rectors, vice-rectors and professors from six Ukrainian Universities – partners of the “University-Enterprises Cooperation in Game Industry in Ukraine: GameHub” project – visited the University of Deusto from 11th to 14th April 2016.

GameHub is a project coordinated by the Learning group of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Deusto and co-funded by the ERASMUS+ Programme of the European Union in the frame of the Capacity-building in the Field of Higher Education programme 2015.

Prof. Dr. Álvaro de la Rica Aspiunza, vice-rector of International Relations of University of Deusto, met the Rectors of the Donetsk National Technical University Dr. Iaroslav Liashok, the NTU Kharkiv Politechnuc Institute Prof. Dr. Yevgen Sokol, the Precarpathian National University Prof. Dr. Igor Tsependa, and vice-rector of Science and Research of the Donetsk National Technical University Prof. Dr. Yevgen Bashkov. Prof. Dr. Álvaro de la Rica presented the structure of the University of Deusto as well as the development of the Strategic Plan during the last decade, emphasizing the mission of the university to improve its performance, in the permanent quest for excellence in education and research, together with financial feasibility while serving society and addressing current challenges: values, humanity, technology, effects of globalisation, lifelong training and employability, among others. The rectors of the Ukrainian Universities also presented their institutions and showed interest to further cooperate in
higher education and research with the University of Deusto.
IMG_7613 Learning group presented Deusto University´s main activities within the game design and development to the Ukrainian consortium. Those
attending the study visit showed how digital games can be applied to teaching at Master level, how to use game design for students developing code writing, and cooperation and partnership with SMEs of game industry in the Basque Country. The results of national and EU projects promoting creative learning and gamification in Education, Psychotherapy and Medicine were also introduced, projects such as Make World, Trastea.club, AutoGame, SocialLab, Signal and Image Processing, Intelligent Therapy and
Rehabilitation, Family Game, etc.
