Justification of the GameHub activity at the University

More than 20 departments of NTU “KhPI” are involved in training and producing of software professionals. The University currently has a strong academic potential in the field of info-communications, system and applied software. Academic teaching staff of the University has a solid experience in training, retraining and advanced training of professionals contributing to conduction of quality educational activities in the region.

Aims and objectives of the GameHub operation at the University:
describe overall regional objectives

  1. Concentration of knowledge, skills and resources in the field of gaming industry based on European standards and best practices.
  2. Integration of current experience in electronic games development into educational resources of the university for the development of gaming industry.
  3. Adaptation of developed modules in syllabi of “Artificial intelligence systems” major at Bachelor, Masters and PhD levels.
  4. Elaboration of flexible syllabi, organization and conduction of training on gaming technologies for different target groups.
  5. Creation of information and consultation space of the university in the field of gaming technologies.
  6. Development of cooperation with IT gaming companies.

Priority activities planned at the regional GameHub

  1. Training of professionals at Bachelor, Masters and PhD levels for the market of gaming industry in Ukraine.
  2. Increased opportunities for professional fulfilment of different target groups, including members of ATO at the market of gaming industry.
  3. Development of games for mobile platforms and mobile devices.
  4. Provision of information and consulting services.

Organizational and managerial aspects of the GameHub

Organizational and managerial priorities of the Game-studio are geared to the use of their own achievements in science, education and practice, implementation of fundamentally new scientific knowledge, broad experience in international cooperation and effective use of business satellites (satellites, assistants), promoting relations with the outside world.

The principles of the GameHub organization at the University

Principles of organization of the Game-studio at the university are based on the relevance, effectiveness, sustainability and dissemination of best practices.

For this purpose it is necessary to do the following steps:

  1. Develop a structure of the Game-studio
  2. Create a Game-studio laboratory, using technical capabilities, scientific and educational resources of “Information Systems” department and support of GameHub project.
  3. Get institutional support from the top management of the university (the Decree of the Rector on the establishment of the laboratory).
  4. Approve the Regulations on the activities of the laboratory, where the composition, responsibilities of employees of laboratory, scientific and educational areas of its activity will be determined.
  5. Organize a stable internal and external communications between structural elements of the Game-studio.
  6. Develop stable ties within GameHub – Ukraine.
